New Felice Brothers Record - $5 Download
Reblogged from The Mad Mackerel:
At midnight last night, the wonderful Felice Brothers released God Bless You Amigo - a new 'album' of 20 songs (eight traditional folk songs and twelve originals the band have always liked "but never had a chance to put on record") as a digital download from their website for a paltry $5 minimum purchase.

A day at the saleyards
A couple of months ago I was invited to accompany a friend to the Feilding Sale Yards. And what a treat, only the second time I had visited sale yards. It was busy with farmers and farmers wives, auctioneers and of course sheep and cows. Here are some of the images.
I live on an island – Waiwera North of Auckland N.Z.
I don't live on the island pictured, but I saw this tiny island as I wandered along Waiwera beach this very morning. I feel we are all islands - in a common sea. Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Where I grew up
A summer morning on a beach very near where I grew up. The province is Taranaki – West Coast Central North Island of New Zealand. To your right is the spine of a volcano – Paritutu. And on your left a series of small islands affectionately known as the Sugar Lumps. At low tide you can walk to them. The sand is black and hot on bare feet when traversed. This beach is in my heart.
